Our policy

Sevadar Foundation Inc., operating as Valor Medica, does not exclude, deny benefits to, or otherwise discriminate against any person in the provision of services or in employment on the basis of:

• Race, color, national origin, ancestry or ethnicity
• Religion or creed
• Sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression
• Age
• Disability
• Marital or familial status
• Military or veteran status, including discharge characterization
• Housing status
• Source of income, or inability to pay
• Any other characteristic protected by applicable law

Two we name explicitly

Because they are the two most common grounds on which our patients have previously been turned away:

• Discharge characterization. A discharge that was not honorable does not disqualify you from care here.
• Active substance use. Being in active use does not disqualify you from assessment or treatment.

Communication assistance

We provide free aids and services to people with disabilities and free language assistance to people whose primary language is not English, where needed to communicate effectively with us. Ask any staff member, or call (314) 000-0000.

Filing a complaint

If you believe we have discriminated, you can file a grievance in person, by mail, by phone or by email. Assistance in filing is available if you need it, and there will be no retaliation.
