Our commitment
We serve people with traumatic brain injury, PTSD, sensory sensitivity, low vision and limited digital access. An inaccessible website is not a technical shortcoming here — it is a barrier to care for exactly the people this exists for.
We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
What we have built in
- Semantic headings in a logical order, and landmark regions on every page
- A “skip to main content” link as the first focusable element
- Visible focus indicators throughout
- Full keyboard operation — no mouse required, no keyboard traps
- Text contrast meeting AA against its background
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images
- Text that reflows to 320px without horizontal scrolling
- Respect for the reduced-motion setting — animation is suppressed if you have asked your device for less
- Video that does not load until you press play, and does not autoplay
- No text baked into images as the only way to read it
Known limitations
Being honest is more useful than claiming perfection:
- Our forms are delivered by JotForm, whose accessibility we do not fully control. If a form blocks you, call (314) 000-0000 and a person will complete it with you.
- The donation platform is likewise third-party. Gifts can always be made by check or by phone instead.
- Embedded video is served by YouTube. Captions are provided; the player is theirs.

Getting help another way
Nothing on this site is the only route to us. Everything here can be done by phone, by mail, in person, or through a Valor Villages case manager.
