Medical Disclaimer
This website is general health education.
It is not medical advice.
Valor Medica is a trade name of Sevadar Foundation Inc. References to “we,” “us,” and “our” below mean that entity.

Reading this site does not make you our patient
Nothing published on valormedica.org is a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute
for being examined by a clinician who knows your history. Reading these pages, submitting a form,
or corresponding with us does not create a physician–patient relationship with Valor Medica or with
any clinician associated with it. That relationship begins at an appointment.
Do not change a medication because of something you read here
Several of the medications discussed on this site cause a withdrawal syndrome, or rebound, when
they are stopped abruptly, and some must be reduced gradually under supervision. Nothing here is
advice about your own prescription. Talk to the clinician who prescribed it.
Individual results vary
Descriptions of conditions and treatments on this site are general. Whether any of it applies
to you depends on your diagnosis, your imaging, your other conditions and your medications. No
outcome is promised, and no treatment described here works for everyone.
Figures on this site
Where we report numbers from our own patients, they are described as practice-reported
figures and the population they came from is named. They are not trial results, and they are
not a prediction about you. Where we report a figure from published research, it is cited to
its source and the population the study examined is stated. Neither kind of figure is a
promise about your outcome.
In an emergency
If you think you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest
emergency department. Do not wait for a reply to a message and do not rely on anything
you read here. If you are in crisis or thinking of harming yourself, call or text 988,
the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
Messages and forms are not an emergency route
Forms on this site, email, and text messages are read during business hours. They are not
monitored around the clock and they are not secure. Do not use any of them to report an urgent
or emergency medical problem, and do not send detailed medical information by text.
What the review byline means
Pages on this site carry a line naming the clinician who wrote and reviewed them, with a date.
That attests authorship and clinical review of the content on that date. It is not a statement
that the content has been reviewed against your situation, and it is not clinical advice to you.
Currency of the information
Medicine changes. We review this material periodically and date what we review, but a page may
not reflect the most recent evidence at the moment you read it.
Links to other sites
Links to other organizations are provided for convenience. We do not control them, we do not
endorse everything on them, and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy
practices.
Related policies
How we handle your information is described in our
Privacy Policy. The terms governing your use of
this website are set out in our Terms & Conditions.
