Ways to give
You can give to Valor Medica through its parent charity, Sevadar Foundation Inc., EIN 93-2840861: a gift by card, bank transfer or check, once or monthly; appreciated stock; a donor-advised fund grant; an IRA qualified charitable distribution; employer matching; or a bequest.
Six routes, some of which cost you materially less than writing a check.
One-time gift
By card or bank transfer through our secure platform, or by check.
By mail:
Sevadar Foundation Inc.
4477 Woodson Rd, Suite 210
St. Louis, MO 63134
Make checks payable to Sevadar Foundation Inc. Write “Valor Medica” in the memo line if you want it directed to this program.
Monthly giving
A recurring gift is worth more than its face value, because it is the only kind that lets us commit to someone’s care past the current month.
Appreciated stock
Giving appreciated securities held more than a year generally lets you deduct the full market value and avoid capital gains on the appreciation — often a materially better outcome than selling and donating cash.
Contact give@valormedica.org for transfer instructions. Talk to your own adviser about your situation; we are not tax advisers.
Donor-advised fund
Recommend a grant through your DAF sponsor to Sevadar Foundation Inc., EIN 93-2840861.
Please ask your sponsor to include your name and address so we can thank you — DAF grants often arrive anonymous by default.
IRA qualified charitable distribution
If you are 70½ or older, a qualified charitable distribution direct from an IRA can satisfy required minimum distributions without counting as taxable income.
Have your custodian make it payable to Sevadar Foundation Inc., EIN 93-2840861.
Employer matching
Many employers match employee charitable gifts, and a large share of that money goes unclaimed every year. Check your employer’s program and submit Sevadar Foundation Inc., EIN 93-2840861.
How do I leave a gift in my will or estate?
A bequest costs nothing during your lifetime and is the largest gift most people ever make. Suggested language for a will or trust:
“I give and bequeath to Sevadar Foundation Inc., a Missouri nonprofit corporation, Federal Tax ID 93-2840861, the sum of $______ (or ______ percent of the residue of my estate) to be used for its general charitable purposes.”
You can also name the Foundation as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy, which is usually simpler than amending a will. Please tell us if you have done so — not to hold you to it, but so we can thank you and plan honestly.
